Monopolized media has been divided along the same lines that the 2 State Parties has: "Liberal" vs. "Conservative".
Regardless of their agenda, the idea of assassinating the USA President has been a natural part of the "Christian Fascist" ideaology.
In the first article you will read and view how the monopolized media for "conservatives" is attempting to relate the "Jesus Shooter" with the "Occupy Washington DC!" movement, meanwhile in the 2nd article, "conservative" youth who are part of the state-sponsored "Republican Party" are shown to support the "Jesus Shooter" attempt to assassinate the USA President.2011-11-18 "Fox News Calls Would-Be Obama Assassin ‘Occupy Shooter’ A Day After Authorities Found ‘No Connection’ To Protests" by Alex Seitz-Wald
[http://thinkprogress.org/media/2011/11/18/372290/fox-news-occupy-shooter/]
Yesterday, authorities charged Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez with attempting to assassinate President Obama after he allegedly fired an assault riffle at the White House [http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57327488-504083/white-house-shooting-suspect-oscar-ramiro-ortega-hernandez-says-hes-jesus/]. Never missing an opportunity to politicize such an event, Fox News baselessly tried to tie Ortega-Hernandez to the 99 Percent Movement, running a chyron that dubbed the man the “‘Occupy’ shooter.”
Fox & Friends host Gretchen Carlson said the shooter “may have tried to blend in with the Occupy protesters in D.C.,” and asked conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, “What would have happened if a tea party person had tried to do that?” [http://mediamatters.org/research/201111170007]
Malkin took the bait, but admitted that “political ideology” was likely not a motivation of the man. Watch it, via Media Matters:
Meanwhile, Fox Nation, the social news site owned by Fox News, ran a headline yesterday blaring: “Man Linked to ‘Occupy’ Protest Charged With Attempted Assassination of Obama.” [http://blogs.villagevoice.com/runninscared/2011/11/fox_news_ortega-hernandez_obama.php]
On Wednesday night’s Special Report — one of Fox’s “straight news” shows — host Bret Baier said, “Hernandez reportedly spent time with the Occupy D.C. protesters.” [http://newsbusters.org/blogs/kyle-drennen/2011/11/17/networks-ignore-reports-white-house-shooter-may-have-spent-time-occupy]
The claim was based on a report that authorities searched the Occupy DC encampment in their wide-ranging manhunt for Ortega-Hernandez [http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/17/us/bullet-that-struck-the-white-house-is-found.html], a logical step as the site is less than the two blocks from the White House. Unfortunately, for Fox, investigators “found no connection between him and the Occupy protesters,” the Washington Post and other outlets reported the day before Carlson and Malkin claimed a link. Indeed, by then, Ortega-Hernandez had already been arrested in Pennsylvania, and there were reports that he was motivated by mental illness and hatred for Obama [http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-504083_162-57327488-504083/white-house-shooting-suspect-oscar-ramiro-ortega-hernandez-says-hes-jesus/].
This type of baseless smear is perhaps to be expected on conservative blogs and radio shows — many of which leapt on the phony connection to Occupy DC — but one would expect better from the country’s largest cable network, which no doubt should have seen the reports dismissing the connection between Ortega-Hernandez and the Occupy protesters.
It appears Fox has not issued a correction, and the Fox Nation story remains online with the same headline.
2011-11-17 "Texas College Republican Calls Assassinating Obama Tempting" by Jessica Pieklo
[http://www.care2.com/causes/texas-college-republican-calls-assassinating-obama-tempting.html]
The same day authorities arrested a 21-year-old Idaho man for allegedly firing a semi-automatic rifle at the White House, the leader of the University of Texas College Republicans tweeted that the idea of assassinating President Obama was “tempting.” [http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/11/texas-college-gop-leader-obama-assassination-tempting/#.TsQwqQtRQ6k.twitter]
Lauren Pierce authored the offending tweet and quickly backtrack calling it a “joke.” She should have stopped talking right there, but didn’t. In an interview with ABC News she continued that an attempted assassination would “only make the situation worse.”
The rest of the College Republican leadership doubled-down on the remark. Vice President Cassie Wright said “I don’t really see anything wrong with it.”
This is the future of the Republican party right here. For them, assassination comments, in the wake of an arrest, are simply “jokes.” No one expects collegiate Republicans to get behind the Obama administration, nor is anyone asking them to be quiet in their criticism of his policies. But, when Rep. Gabby Giffords is still recovering from taking a bullet to the head, and when shots are fired at the White House is this the kind of atmosphere the University of Texas wants to foster in it’s rising political stars?
